Treasurer Report:   Bryan Mangiavellano

Broke even in most festivals.  Still lose money in B&O.  Decrease in Mileage for judges helped.  Thanks to site hosts for finding good housing.  Possible changes in contracts for judges.  MS Honors Band monies can come in to Bryan.

Sight Reading Music in back of Sheri’s van.  Lorri is filling in.  Question on judge meals expense??  Trying to balance the sites

 High School S&E Report:  Aaron Mykeloff (Sub Lorri Wittenkeller):

Written Report.  Question have we thought about having Music Students work at S&E to prevent shortage.   Could also contact at MSU and encourage.

Contracts went out April 1st.  Please send your evaluations to Jared!  Another issue discussed was the cassette recorders going bad.  Jared and Dave Gott will look into purchase recorders over the summer.

Go to the spring meeting at MSU!!  Slate of officers listed for STATE.  Proposed officers for our District 8.  Proposed Calendar also.

Music Education: Dave Gott

Marching Band: Bill Murray

 

Middle School Honors Band Report:  Carolyn Sherrill and Patty Kroth

Discuss how to acquire/distribute music.  Possibility of having group of members to purchase one of the pieces.  Another possibility would be to provide library lists to the conductors.

 

Jazz Report:  Kevin Krieger

17 ensembles performed at Mason HS.  20 minutes may not be enough time, so possible to toy around the idea of doing 40 minute spots.  Anyone interested in hosting let Kevin know. 

 

MYAF:  This weekend at WMU

 

Festival Improvements:  Lorri Wittenkeller

Lots of language adjustments made.  Discussion to have 1 band piece for Sight Reading.  Voice your opinion June 4th Spring Meeting.

 

Medals Report:  Jason Cunningham

Question regarding the quality of medals?  Could go back to the copper medals but it could cost more for shipping.  Receiving many last minute requests…maybe next year end of April would help. 


Motion made to go back to the original type of medal and pay the additional cost.  Motion made by Jared Throneberry  Second Mangiavellano

Time to create these.  Asked other districts for their copy.  Whose willing to be on By-Laws committee (Stacie Detgen, Kevin Kivel, Tonya Hicks, Chris Blackmer, Dave Gott)

            Band Teacher of the Year Nomination: Tavia Zerman (Accepted)

Orchestra Teacher of the Year Nomination : Tom Jones (Accepted)

 

Communication Policy to be discussed.  Difficult to communicate with members.  Communicate ideas to Garrett Ernst and Stacie will be happy to take it to E-Board. 

 

Recording Equipment:   Joel Shaner Oympus was one recommendation.  Ederol are even better for All-State recording too.   The State might be purchasing All-State, so may wish to hold off until the fall district meeting.  In the mean while we can brainstorm the equipment.
